Head of the Operations crew for EA, John Danziger was not supposed to land on the planet. He is a solid, blue-collar man who is a gifted mechanic. He lived in the Quadrant, which was presumably the working-class ghetto of the Stations. He was also working to pay off the debt of his grandparents' passage up to the Stations from Earth that he'd inherited from his parents. As a result, he has very little respect for authority, especially that of his "betters" on the Stations. He knows that his skills are needed if the group is to make it to New Pacifica, and doesn't let you forget it.
